The Hungarian Country Signing Certification Authority (CSCA-HU)
This website contains the information on the Hungarian Country Signing Certification Authority (CSCA–HU) and its root certificate (CSCA–HU Root Certificate). This root certificate is essential to validate the Hungarian Document Signer Certificate contained electronically in the Hungarian e-passport chip.
The Republic of Hungary has established the CSCA–HU pursuant to the Council Regulation (EC) No 2252/2004 of 13 December 2004 and the relating Commission Decision (2005/II/28) as well as the pertaining recommendations of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). The CSCA–HU was entered into live operation on 25 th August 2006 with generating the first self-signed CSCA–HU certificate.
The operation of the CSCA–HU falls under the responsibility of Central Office for Administrative and Electronic Public Services (Central Office - CO) as the issuer of the Hungarian passports.
